My name is Billy Marlin, I currently travel the US with my wife Tracy Marlin and our dog Zoey. My wife is a travel nurse and I work remotely as an IT Manager with Danfoss. This has allowed us to visit a lot of new places over the past few years adding to my portfolio along the way. It was always my dream and the reason I went into IT with the vision someday of being able to work from home.
How I got into photography
My mother got me into photography at a young age so I have a lot of candid shots from my point and shoot cameras early on. It was not until I got into trying to capture action photography that I started to really learn how to shoot photos. I started with a Sony A6000 taking wakeboarding photos and videos. It was not until I did a work trip to Chicago and purchased my first tripod that I got a little more serious. I immediately fell in love with city night shots with the streaking of lights on the busy streets in 2018. In 2019 I captured an incredible shot of a waterfall during a hike in Breckinridge. This was my very first photo that I printed in large format. Once I started doing large print photos quickly realized I needed to upgrade to a full frame camera. I am now shooting with the Sony A7RV there top of the line camera in 2022. The past 2 years I finally started a website working to build a basic portfolio.
